learn moreThis system was designed for one of our customers that wanted to transport, accumulate, index, divide, and combine wrapped graham cracker packages. Shuttleworth’s Slip-Torque® conveyor was chosen because of the gentle handling and low back pressure characteristics while handling and accumulating product. Product enters the system in three lanes and accumulate before the diverting station. As product enters the swinger divert device, an overhead brake holds a portion of the accumulated product while a slug of product enters the divert device in all three lanes. The diverter divides the product evenly from three lanes to nine lanes for additional accumulation. As the product approaches the cartoning station, the nine lanes are combined back to 3 lanes to ensure an even number of products is in each lane. Using side mounted sensors and our Servo Smartfeed®, product is detected and positioned in each of the three lanes and fed into a flighted infeed to the customer supplied cartoner. If any of the wrapped product is not in line with the other two lanes, the Servo Smartfeed adjusts the speed in that particular lane to match up the product with the other lanes.
Welcome to System Spotlight, giving you an in-depth look at Shuttleworth’s more advanced product handling systems and conveyor applications. In this video, we will showcase a solution for one of our customers that wanted to transport, accumulate, index, divide, and combine wrapped graham cracker packages.
