learn moreThis system was designed for one of our customers that wanted to accumulate, singulate, and disperse rolls of tape to be packaged further down the line. Shuttleworth used specially made Teflon rollers with this solution to prevent the conveyor surface from becoming too sticky from the tape adhesive during use. As the tape rolls leave the product slitter, a speed change within the Shuttleworth Slip-Torque® surface causes the rolls of tape to accumulate. From accumulation, the rolls are transferred to another conveyor for merging and combining the product. The use of guides and speed changes enables the accumulated tape rolls to automatically orient into a single lane. Once the tape rolls are in a single lane, they are conveyed 180 degrees using two 90-degree corners. This change in direction is enabled in such a tight space due to the small footprint of each 90 degree turn. Unless otherwise diverted by the manual bypass diverter, the rolls of tape continue to the packaging station.
Welcome to System Spotlight, giving you an in-depth look at Shuttleworth’s more advanced product handling systems and conveyor applications. In this video, we will showcase a solution for one of our customers that wanted to accumulate, singulate, and disperse rolls of tape to be packaged further down the line.
